Upon arrival, Señorita Amanda and the group will tour the city with a guide so that we can get oriented, where the closest grocery store and bank are, etc. Classes will be held for 2 hours per day in leveled groups. Afternoons will be free to take day trips or excursions, as there are many offered in town. We will have a few guided activities: dance class, street art tour and hop-on off bus. We will also visit Iguazú falls, as well as taking a ferry to Montevideo and staying for a night. You will get to experience 2 different countries, practice speaking, bond with fellow VSC students and enrich your life with South American culture! Interested? See details below.
This trip will be the perfect balance of structured and free time. I hope to provide the ease and comfort you need when traveling to a foreign country, but will also push you to step out of your comfort zone. We will do the mentioned activities above together, and the rest of the time, you will be able to wander and explore. I will give you an itinerary with a daily breakdown of our plan, and in order to get to know each other better, students will be assigned different buddies each day to explore with during free time. At night, we may decide to be all together, or divvy up into groups. We will be staying in hostels, to have a real “travelers” experience; you’ll likely share with a few other people, VSC students and/or fellow world travelers! Get ready for an adventure…

Nicaragua, Dec- 2017
We spent ten adventure-packed days in sunny Nicaragua, in Granada, La Isla de Ometepe and briefly in Managua.
Trip highlights were kayaking through Lake Managua with 2 great guides, taking a boat trip around the little islands while having lunch, then jumping in for a dip afterwards, ziplining in Lake Ometepe, trying Nicaraguan dishes, watching baby turtles be released to sea, visiting an active volcano, and chatting with the locals.
Cuba, Feb- 2016
On a people to people visit, we enjoyed this beautiful culture through its' cuisine, music, art and dance.
We started in Havana, and in a short period were able to tour the city with a great guide and see the sites, explore old town, dance to great music, and enjoy tasty dishes in authentic eateries.
Students had daily Spanish lessons, and after lunch spent the afternoons taking salsa lessons, visiting museums, walking by the river, chatting with locals and exploring the culture.
We ended our magical getaway with a weekend in Trinidad! Hope to go back soon...
